Abstract:
A numerical procedure suited for computer usage is developed to perform an exact analysis based on equilibrium and strain compatibility for reinforced concrete columns with cross sections of arbitrary shape and subjected simultaneously to a combination fo axial force and biaxial bending moments using strength theory. The recent availability of microprocessors makes an exact analysis possible by a convergent iterative process that may be more efficient to perform than some fo the existing approximate procedures. Numerical examples are included to demonstrate the effectiveness and generality of the procedure.
