Abstract:
A simplified moment distribution procedure has been developed for the analysis of multilevel, multibay reinforced concrete plane frames that are sujected to lateral loads. This method uses modified stiffness factors, carry-over factors, and fixed-end moments while considering simultaneous rotation and translation of joints at the ends of the columns. The solution obtained with this method performs well when compared to the solutions obtained using two comprehensive, well-documented computer programs that use matrix methods.
