Abstract:
Development of lightweight pumice concrete with a 28-day strength greater than 3500 psi (24133 kPa) may significantly increase the use of concrete in residential construction. Precast panels made from this concrete were used extensively in the Rockwood residence on Hayden Island, Portland, Ore. This unique single-family home is the test project for a special modular system of precast sandwich panels made from structural lightweight aggregate concrete.
