Abstract:

The combined effects of structural loads and environmental exposure determine the performance of structures or structural components. Durability planning is a process of achieving durability through appropriate design, construction, and maintenance. As the authors demonstrate through case studies of projects completed in Australia, the central objective is to select the most cost-effective combination of materials to achieve the required design life.
