Abstract:
The present work submitted to the ATEP XIII National Technique meeting, celebrated in Alicante, mark out a corrosion problem solution in 33 kns longness and 78 diameter inches prestressed cibcrete pipeline for potable water. This pipeline had severe corrosion problems on prestressed steel, for this problem has been necesary to reemplace several 6 m pipes. The problem has been solved for application cathodic protection system with magnesium sacrifice anodes. The prject design and the works realization has been made in 8 months, instalating 7837 magnesium anodes, 15 kgs with activator mix, bridging all the pipes to homogenize the potentials, not surpassing -1,2 V in points, in reference to copper sulfate electrode. The system was appllied in 1982, 4 years after pipeline instalation.
