Abstract:
A brief account of the advantaqe of riaid frame construction over earlier types such as girder and slab, steel trusses, and convent;onal concrete arches. . this new type has been extensively used on On- tario hlghways since 1931. In the experience of the author rigid frame design has marked advantages in regard to econ-om and in initial and maintenance costs in appearance, in amount of head room afforded.
