Testing and inspecting structural concrete for construction projects is a building code requirement to provide for the overall health and safety of the public. ACI 311.6-18, Specification for Testing Ready Mixed Concrete and ACI 311.7-18, Specification for Inspection of Concrete Construction were recently updated for Architects, Engineers, Owner’s Representatives, and other Specifiers for inclusion and reference in project manuals, plans, and specifications where this work is required. The contents of both specifications including General Requirements, Testing of Ready Mixed Concrete, Transmittals, Inspections, and other relevant information will be discussed.
