Addressing the need for a greater availability of Examiners for Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I, the ACI C 610 Committee has updated its policies, giving non-P.E.s the opportunity to serve as Examiner for ACI’s most popular program. Professionals with 5 years’ experience in the concrete industry who are currently certified may be considered for Examiner after participating as a Proctor and/or Supplemental Examiner in at least four Field Tech. sessions at their Sponsoring Group. Applicants must also assist/apprentice in the overall administration (written and performance administration, exam security management, etc.) of any two sessions alongside an existing Examiner; these session requirements may be fulfilled concurrently. It should be noted that ALL new Field Tech. Examiner applicants—including P.E.s—must fulfill the required overall assistance/apprenticeship in at least two sessions before applying. (Current/active Examiners need not fulfill this requirement.) Click here to view the full updated policy for Field Testing Technician—Grade I. Primary Sponsoring Group contacts can add Examiners under the “Sponsoring Group Maintenance” link on their Sponsoring Group home page; this process will send the appropriate forms to new Examiner applicants upon your request.
