ACI student chapter officers took part in a leadership workshop on Sunday, March 24, 2019 during The Concrete Convention and Exposition in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Student Chapter Leadership Workshop was sponsored by ACI Committee: S805 Collegiate Concrete Council, and featured a keynote presentation by ACI Past President Ken Hover, titled Revolutionary Leadership: Focus on Your Members. The presentation is part of a three-part career development series conceived by Hover, who is faculty advisor to the ASCE student chapter at Cornell University. He has been mentoring the Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge competition-team leaders for many years. Student-led presentations on membership, meeting planning, and fundraising were given by student leaders from San Jose State University, University of the Philippines Diliman, and New Jersey Institute of Technology. The following day, all students participated in the ACI Student Forum to learn about the activities and accomplishments of ACI Student Chapters from around the world.
