Five university graduate students will receive travel stipends in the amount of $1,000 to attend The Concrete Convention and Exposition October 20-24, 2019 in Cincinnati, OH, USA. The travel stipends are sponsored by ACI Committee, S805 Collegiate Concrete Council, in an effort to provide graduate students with the opportunity to enhance their academic research and professional development by attending an international concrete conference. The goal is to increase student membership and retain students as professional members as they transition into their chosen careers. This is the first year that ACI has offered this type of program to graduate students. The committee received nearly 50 applications that were reviewed by a task group who selected the top five candidates. Anabel N. The deadline to apply for these awards is November 1, 2019. Fellowship winners receive three all-expense paid trips to the ACI Conventions, an industry mentor and a internship. ACI currently has more than 16,000 student members. Membership is free to both undergraduates and graduate students and include benefits such as free digital access to ACI’s practices, journals, and magazine; discounts on textbooks and online resources; and a $10 registration fee to attend the convention.
