Bundle with reference package for maximum value The American Concrete Institute has developed a new on-demand course for the ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector (CCSI) certification program. An ACI-Certified Concrete Construction Special Inspector is an individual qualified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection based on codes and job specifications. The CCSI program covers pre-placement inspection of materials, subgrade and formwork, and reinforcement; placement inspection including placing conditions, observation of fresh concrete testing, conveying, placing, and consolidation; post-placement inspection of curing, protection, formwork removal, and much more. Additionally, ACI-Certified Concrete Construction Special Inspectors are cited in ACI 318-19: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary; which states: “Inspectors should establish their capability of performing inspection requirements by becoming certified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction, including pre-placement, placement, and post-placement through the ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector Certification Program (ACI CPP 630.1-15) or equivalent.” To earn a CCSI certification, an individual must obtain a passing grade on the written inspection examination and the plans-reading examination, among other requirements. The Institute developed a new Concrete Construction Special Inspector Certification Training on-demand course to guide participants through the chapters of the ACI Manual of Concrete Inspection and help prepare for the inspection exam component of the CCSI certification program. The course includes five modules that contain recorded presentations, practice quizzes, and a final quiz. For maximum value, a new Concrete Construction Special Inspector Training & Reference Bundle is also available, which includes a copy of the ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector Reference Package (CP-21); and the CCSI on-demand course. CP-21 contains all of the references needed during the written inspection examination. “A great deal of effort goes into developing specifications for concrete construction projects,” states John W. Nehasil, Managing Director, Certification, American Concrete Institute. “It simply makes sense to ensure that projects are built to those specifications by employing ACI-Certified Concrete Construction Special Inspectors. Effective inspection can identify potential problems before they cause construction delays and costly corrections, and ACI-Certified Inspectors are qualified to provide effective inspection.” For more information on ACI’s certification programs, please visit ACICertification.org.
