ACI Committee 123, Research and Current Developments, recently announced the winners of their bi-annual poster competition held in conjunction with the ACI Virtual Convention.
Students were invited to submit abstracts on previously unpublished information from in-progress or completed studies in any area of concrete structures or materials. The purpose of the session is to allow undergraduate and graduate students an open forum to present their research and solicit feedback from industry and research experts. The posters were evaluated by a panel of judges and the top three winners received cash prizes.
First Place Winners Erin Stewartson (The Ohio State University): Evaluation of Adsorption Tracking Methods for Unconventional and Marginal Fly AshZhanzhao Li (Penn State University): Thermodynamic Investigation of Iron Sulfide Oxidation in Concrete
Third Place Winner Sadegh Tale (University of Miami): Machine Learning for the Rational Design of Bio-Inspired Air-Entraining Admixtures
The mission of ACI Committee 123 is to provide updates on current research, technological trends, and contemporary topics related to concrete and facilitate dissemination of this information at ACI Conventions.
The committee is currently soliciting abstracts for the ACI Concrete Convention March 27 – 31, 2022 in Orlando, FL, USA. The deadline to submit abstracts is January 10, 2022.
