The Women in ACI Committee will host an extended networking reception to celebrate their 30th Anniversary on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM at the 8Block Restaurant inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel during the ACI Concrete Convention in New Orleans, LA, USA. This reception has a long history at ACI and has grown from a small gathering of women attendees to an event attended by all convention demographics. During the program, the committee will recognize award winning women who have made significant contributions to ACI and share the legacy of the Women in ACI. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy food, fellowship, and join in celebrating 30 years of Women in ACI! There will also be an opportunity to participate in the committee’s annual Concrete Art Auction. Proceeds from the auction benefit young professionals by providing the opportunity to receive complimentary convention registration. The program is open to men and women with less than eight years of industry experience. The Women in ACI have awarded 30 paid registrations over the course of 30 years. The following recipients will be introduced during the New Orleans networking event. Paige Toebben is a Research Civil Engineer at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Lab in Fairbanks, AK, USA. Paige believes attending the convention will help her employer through the acquisition of cutting-edge knowledge and insights essential for enhancing ongoing projects. She is interested in topics and committees related to 3D-Printing, Lunar Concrete, Cold Weather Concrete, and Sustainability. Amir Behravan is a Research Scientist with the Virginia Department of Transportation in Charlottesille, VA, USA. His interests include Nondestructive Testing of Concrete, Durability of Concrete, and Sustainability of Concrete Materials. Amir is actively inolved in updating/revising ACI PRC-228.2-13 Report on Nondestructive Test Methods for Evaluation of Concrete in Structures.
