ACI 123: Research in Progress

Presentations Solicited: Two 2-hour oral presentation sessions titled “Open Topic Session” at the ACI Concrete Convention - Fall 2024; sponsored by ACI Committee 123, Research and Current Developments.Meetings:

Two 2-hour oral presentation sessions entitled “Research in Progress” at the ACI Fall 2024 Concrete Convention and Exposition; sponsored by ACI Committee 123: Research and Current Developments.

Solicited:

Information from in-progress studies on any aspect of structural analysis or design, concrete materials science, or construction, manufacturing, use, and maintenance of concrete structures and products. The purpose of this session is to offer authors/speakers an open forum for presentation of recent technical information that does not fit into other sessions scheduled for this convention. Oral presentations are limited to 15 minutes, including time for questions. Results from completed or mature research projects should be submitted to the Open Topic Presentations session.

Student presentations in this session will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Winners will receive a cash prize sponsored by Giatec Scientific Inc. To be eligible for the awards, the lead author and presenter must currently be an undergraduate or graduate student.

Submission Requirements:

Presenter details (name, title, affiliation, and contact information)
Presentation title
Abstract (no more than 150 words)
One relevant figure
Preference for oral or poster presentation
Notes:

Duplicate submissions to multiple ACI 123 sessions will not be considered for either session. Please select the appropriate session for your work.
Submissions of previously published work, or submission of the same work for presentation at another ACI committee meeting, symposium, or session will result in abstract rejection.
Although presenter preference for oral or poster presentation (if indicated) will be considered, selections will be made at committee discretion. Student poster presentations are eligible for consideration in a judged competition with a cash prize sponsored by Pivot Engineers.
