ACI will present a five-session webinar series featuring a comprehensive review of the behavior and design recommendations for anchoring fixtures to concrete. After listening to knowledgeable instructors and working through both simple and more complex problems, participants should have the tools needed to design structural connections to concrete using the anchor design provisions of ACI 318-11. Anchor systems are typically used to connect two parts of a structure together or to connect a nonstructural item to the structure. As shown in the figure, the connection includes three main components, the attachment (typically a piece of steel), the anchor, and the substrate material (typically concrete or masonry into which the anchor is secured). During these webinars, there will be extensive discussion and reference to Appendix D of ACI 318-11, and SP-17(11) Volume 2. These items can be purchased in the ACI Store.
