View the transcript for a full recap. http://t.co/Twa39kOuKl— AmericanConcreteInst (@ConcreteACI) November 18, 2014 The American Concrete Institute (ACI) hosted a Twitter Chat on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, to answer users’ questions about formwork issues including selecting, designing, and specifying formwork systems for concrete structures, the new Formwork for Concrete Manual, and two other ACI Committee Documents on Formwork, ACI 347.3R-13 “Guide to Formed Concrete Surfaces,” and ACI 347R-14 “Guide to Formwork for Concrete.” David Johnston, author of the new 8th Edition of Formwork for Concrete, Edward I. Weisiger Distinguished Professor Emeritus, at North Carolina State University, and member of ACI Technical Committee 347, Formwork for Concrete, was on hand, with ACI staff, to answer formwork questions. Questions were posted about PVC Formwork, how formwork can be designed for safety; what’s new in the latest edition of Formwork for Concrete; the latest load and material standards; the new chapter on shoring and reshoring; and how students will benefit from using the new manual. Over 25,000 Twitter users were reached during the #Formwork chat. Conversations from the Twitter Chat can be found by searching #Formwork on Twitter. ACI previously held a Twitter Chat on ACI 318-14 Building Code Requirement for Structural Concrete during May, 2014 using the hashtag #ACI318. ACI will be scheduling more Twitter Chats in the future on a variety of topics, allowing users to participate in real-time conversations with concrete industry professionals.
