ACI CREATES EXCELLENCE IN CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION AWARDS Deadline for Entries February 15 New in 2015, the American Concrete Institute (ACI) introduces the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards, created to honor the visions of the most creative projects in the concrete industry. The Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards will provide a platform to recognize concrete projects at the forefront of innovation and technology, and showcase these projects to inspire excellence in concrete design and construction around the world. The competition is open to those who have won awards at a local level through the global network of ACI chapters. Concrete projects of all types are eligible to receive an award in the following six categories: low-rise buildings; high-rise buildings; flatwork; infrastructure; decorative concrete; and repair/restoration All entries must be submitted through local chapters. Chapters that do not have a projects awards program still are eligible to submit entries for up to 3 years while a local awards program is developed and launched. The deadline to submit projects is February 15, 2015. Entries will be juried by an independent panel of industry professionals. The most prestigious award will be the “Excellence” award selected from all projects. First and second place awards may be given in each category. The winning projects will be recognized at the 2015 ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards Gala on the evening of November 9, 2015, during the ACI Fall Convention in Denver, CO. The event will consist of a reception that is open to all convention attendees, followed by a ticketed dinner and the formal presentation of awards.
