New Chapter Awards Guide and Upcoming Chapter Awards Events Creating an awards program can benefit an ACI chapter by increasing the chapter’s exposure and standing within the local construction community. It can also help build new ties with other allied organizations. The ACI Chapter Awards Guide is a planning tool that will help ACI Chapters run an awards program from start to finish. Winning projects from the Chapter Award programs can then be submitted for consideration in the ACI Excellence Awards event which will be held during the annual ACI Fall Convention. The ACI Excellence Awards provide a platform to recognize concrete projects at the forefront of innovation and technology, and showcase these projects to inspire excellence in concrete design and construction around the world. The Chapter Awards Guide includes simplified explanations on how to form a committee, establish a timeline, set up a budget, select project categories, judges, venues, and details on how to manage promotion and publicity. More importantly, the Chapter Guide will include samples of various tools such as award mock-ups and call-for-entry forms. Chapter Officers and Board Directors are sure to find new ideas that will help to launch or improve a new or existing awards program.
