ACI’s Ambassador Program provides speakers for international conferences, and an unparalleled learning experience for the speaker. Information gathered at the conferences is then shared with ACI and its committees, resulting in a mutually beneficial relationship. This two-way communication of knowledge is part of ACI’s strategic plan to establish and expand strong and productive relationships with external organizations and individuals. The Ambassador Program was developed as part of ACI’s International Advisory Committee’s mission to plan, develop, and implement programs for international partners, chapters, and organizations who are organizing an international event in support of ACI’s goals. Through the program and the committee’s resources, ACI can access and strengthen technical relations with multiple countries, which in return will fortify committees and knowledge. In 2015, ACI speakers participated in a number of international conferences including: Japan Concrete Institute (JCI) 50th Anniversary Celebration, ACI/JCI Joint Seminar and JCI Annual Convention. Tokyo, Japan, July 12‐14, 2015 4th Asian Conference on Ecstasy in Concrete (ICI‐ACECON 2015) and the 1st ACF (Asian Concrete Federation) Symposium. ACI’s collaborative efforts with its International Partners allows ACI to reach more concrete professionals every year and share knowledge worldwide. International Partners are concrete-related associations committed to cooperation, coordination, and collaboration with other concrete-related societies in an effort to develop a worldwide unified concrete community of equal partners. In the publications arena, the International Partners provide access to a variety of concrete-related resources through the International Concrete Abstracts Portal. The Portal is an ACI-led collaboration with leading technical organizations from within the international concrete industry and offers the most comprehensive collection of published concrete abstracts. Conversely, ACI actively pursues development of its official translations to best serve our members, chapter members, and the global concrete community. The International Forum, held at every ACI Convention, provides an opportunity to learn about other international organizations and their activities, upcoming publications, and events, and how ACI is working with its International Partners in the common pursuit of advancing concrete knowledge. ACI's goal of serving as a major force in creating and maintaining a worldwide community of individuals and organizations supplying and accessing knowledge on concrete is met through its international activities. ACI maintains its relationship with the international concrete community through its participation in international events, its active and influential International Chapters, its collaboration with International Partners, and the Ambassador Program.
