Michael Grantham, President Institute of Concrete Technology, (front left), Ron Burg, ACI Executive Vice President (front right) On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, leaders from the American Concrete Institute and the Institute of Concrete Technology signed an International Partnership Agreement. The purpose of this Agreement is to increase collaboration and cooperation between the Partners for the purpose of improving concrete construction by making technical expertise of each Partner available to the other through publications, meetings, conferences, Internet links, committee membership, certification activities, and other activities. Formed in 1972, and located in Camberley, Surrey, United Kingdom, the Institute of Concrete Technology’s mission is to preserve and promote concrete technology as a recognized engineering discipline and to consolidate the professional status of practicing concrete technologists worldwide. The Institute of Concrete Technology is the concrete sector’s professional development body. Present for the signing were Professor Michael Grantham, President, Institute of Concrete Technology; and Ronald G. Burg, Executive Vice President, ACI. ACI’s international activities are a major force in creating and maintaining a worldwide community of individuals and organizations supplying and accessing knowledge on concrete. Cooperating closely with its International Partners results in benefits for everyone in the global concrete community. ACI looks forward to working with the Institute of Concrete Technology towards a future where everyone has the knowledge needed to use concrete effectively to meet the demands of a changing world.
