Building a Strong Community

The strength of the American Concrete Institute lies in its membership, and a sense of community is one of the main factors that ACI members frequently cite as their reason for joining ACI.

In a new video available on ACI’s website, ACI members explain what ACI means to them.

Members want to be involved. They discuss the opportunities to learn—taking ACI professional development courses to keep up-to-date in their field; working together to expand the database of concrete knowledge; and volunteering on technical committees to produce documents for the entire concrete industry. 

Perhaps one of the most important things that ACI membership affords is the opportunity to interact and share ideas. ACI provides the opportunity for people to meet and experience a common purpose. ACI members note that by being a part of the ACI community they expand not only their professional lives but also their personal lives.

During more than 100 years of operation, ACI, through its members, has contributed to the progress of construction technology. ACI produces hundreds of documents dedicated to improving the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of concrete and masonry structures. ACI relies on the work of over 3,000 volunteers who serve on committees to develop the latest codes and reports related to concrete. By working together, we are expanding the database of concrete knowledge.
