ACI recently signed an International Partnership Agreement with the Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers (HAKI). This new agreement formalizes the desire to collaboratively develop and disseminate information on concrete and concrete structures. International Partners work with ACI to increase access to information. ACI also signed an agreement with the Society to translate CCS-0(16) Concrete Fundamentals into Bahasa Indonesian. Indonesia has the 4th largest population and the seventh largest economy in the world. Current President of HAKI, Dr. Dradjat Hoedajanto, was instrumental in working to have Indonesia adopt ACI 318M Metric Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary in the 1980’s. Indonesia is currently working to upgrade their concrete code to ACI 318M-14 with a target completion date of August 2018. The agreement with the Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers is part of ACI’s strategic goal to promote global adoption and use of ACI knowledge, which will have the result of assisting concrete industry professionals globally to manage increasing requirements for the design of concrete structures. ACI seeks to cooperate closely with our International Partners, resulting in benefits for everyone in the global concrete community. ACI looks forward to working with the Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers towards a future where everyone has the knowledge needed to use the latest concrete technologies effectively to meet the demands of a changing world.
