As part of its international initiative to seek opportunities to advance global outreach, ACI announces that an International Partnership Agreement with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate was recently completed. This new agreement formalizes the desire to increase collaboration and cooperation through a mutual exchange of technical expertise. International Partners work with ACI to increase access to information to engineering community, professionals and experts worldwide. The Egyptian Engineers Syndicate, located in Cairo, Egypt, is the most influential engineering organization in Egypt with over 700,000 members. The Egyptian government is working to update their building code (Egyptian Code of Practice) to ACI 318-14, Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete. Last year ACI entered into an agreement with the nearby Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization to develop a Gulf Building Code, which indicates ACI is an important and growing source of concrete knowledge in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region. ACI looks forward to working with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate towards a future where everyone has the knowledge needed to use latest concrete technologies effectively.
