The Intermountain Chapter of ACI is hosting the ACI Spring Concrete Convention, and they are excited to bring you a wide range of sessions and networking opportunities, with presentations by concrete industry experts. Throughout the week there will be numerous technical and educational sessions providing attendees with the latest research, case studies, best practices, and the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Make sure to congratulate all the awardees as you’re exploring the convention. Join students and other ACI attendees for the Student Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Bowling Ball Competition. Students will eagerly form and construct bowling balls, hoping that they don’t strike out in competition against their peers. Additionally, seven international teams that were the recipients of an ACI award, will participate in the competition. The Student Lunch featured guest speaker will be Nikki Stone, 1998 Olympic Gold Medalist, who will give a presentation on " Learn the Difference between Showing Up and Winning the Gold.” The featured speaker at the International Lunch on Sunday, following the International Forum, will be Dr. Koichi Maekawa, professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Maekawa will give a presentation on “Road to New Transport Infrastructure—Super Express Maglev and Extended Airport.” Don’t miss out on all the networking events, where you can expect to meet with many of the industry’s top engineers, architects, contractors, educators, manufacturers, and material representatives from around the world. Check out networking events such as the Women in ACI Reception, Faculty Network Reception, Opening Reception, and the Concrete Mixer. Finally, don’t forget to visit the ACI Store in the Grand Ballroom. Browse technical documents, and other resources as well as ACI apparel. Get a 10% discount when you visit the store. While you’re in the exhibition hall, make sure to visit exhibitors and chat with them about the latest concrete industry products and services.
