The Architectural Walking Tour of Salt Lake City, sponsored by ACI Committee 124, Concrete Aesthetics, and led by the ACI Intermountain Chapter, proved a great success at The Concrete Convention and Exposition in Salt Lake City, UT, USA, March 26, 2018. Salt Lake City Public Safety Building One of the buildings on the tour agenda was the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building. Forterra produced and erected the terra cotta faced insulated precast wall panels. Built in 2013, the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building is the first LEED Platinum net-zero energy public safety building in the nation. The 4-story building is designed for blast resistance and to with-stand a 7.5 magnitude earth-quake, and is an excellent exjweb-ample of high-performance pre-cast concrete sandwich wall panels with stone inlays. Church History Museum Other notable building visited on the tour included The Grand America Hotel; The Salt Lake City Public Library; World Trade Center Utah; Relief Society Building; Church History Museum; City Creek Parking; and the Former Deseret News Building.
