Students from around the world participated in the ACI 2018 Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Bowling Ball Student Competition, that took place at The Concrete Convention and Exposition in Salt Lake City, USA. The first, second, and third place teams received cash awards of $750, $500, and $250, respectively. The objective of this competition is to demonstrate the effect of fibers reinforcing concrete, to gain experience in forming and fabricating a fiber-reinforced concrete element, and to encourage creativity in engineering design and analysis.
