The Women in ACI are dedicated to sharing the experience of professional and technical collaboration with emerging faces in the concrete industry by offering full registration to The Concrete Convention and Exposition. The contest is open to men and women with less than eight years of industry experience. Lauren McCauley Lauren McCauley, Assistant Project Manager with Balfour Beatty Construction and Alexandra Hyska, a Technical Services Representative at RMC Group of Companies, are the winners for the Fall 2018 contest. They will receive free registration to attend the ACI Convention in Las Vegas, NV, USA October 14-18, 2018. McCauley, who is chair of ACI Young Professional Activities Committee, will moderate a convention session titled, “What I Wish I Knew: Career Paths in Concrete.” A Young Professional Networking event will take place on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. “My employer benefits from my attendance at convention because I am able to bring back the newest insight and different perspectives I've learned regarding the concrete industry,” stated McCauley. “My involvement in ACI represents having a strong network of concrete professionals when questions arise.” Alexandra Hyska This will be Hyska’s first time attending the ACI Convention. Although she is currently involved in activities sponsored by ACI Alberta Chapter in Canada, Hyska believes the convention will expose her to new ideas and different concrete topics beyond the local industry. “This convention will be a great opportunity to network with other young professionals working within the industry from across North America and the world,” stated Hyska. Applications for the next Young Professional Contest will be available in the spring for the ACI Convention in Quebec City, QB, Canada, March 24-28, 2019.
