2019 ACI Louisiana Chapter Officers and Board of Directions The Louisiana Chapter of the American Concrete Institute held its 21st Annual Awards & Installation Banquet on January 18, 2019 at Messina’s At The Terminal in New Orleans, LA. The evening included a cocktail reception with live music, dinner, and installation of the Board of Directors and Officers for 2019. ACI Past President Florian Barth was the emcee for the evening while ACI Past President Bill Rushing provided introductions. The awards recognize and honor creative, innovative and aesthetic use of concrete and concrete masonry products in new construction and renovations projects between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018. The Best Overall Concrete Project - Technical Award for Concrete Innovation: Permanent Canal Closures and Pumps, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. (Owner: US Army Corps of Engineers; Architect: Stantec; Structural Engineer: Stantec; Contractor: PCCP Constructors, a Joint Venture of Kiewit Louisiana Co., Traylor Bros. Inc., and the M.R. Pittman Group LLC; Concrete Supplier: C&R Consulting; Concrete Supplier Subcontractor: LafargeHolcim; Testing Laboratory: Intertek-PSI.) Congratulations to all the Louisiana Chapter Best Concrete Project Award winners. More information on the awards can be found here. The overall project winner from Louisiana will be submitted for consideration to the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards. The deadline for project submissions is April 1, 2019. The awards gala will be held on October 21, 2019 during The Concrete Convention & Exposition in Cincinnati, OH.
