Advanced Construction Technology Services (ACTS) recently hosted an exam session for the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I Certification program in November 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda. The event marks the fourth time an ACI Certification session has been held in this location. Interest in ACI Certification is increasing significantly in the region as a result of Rwanda’s growing economy and investment in infrastructure improvement projects. Attendees at this ACI Certification session included individuals from major contractors and key government entities such as the Rwanda Standards Board and Rwanda Housing Authority. “The Institute continues to work tirelessly with our Sponsoring Groups throughout the world to bring ACI Certification programs to regions in need of certified individuals. These individuals are critical to achieving quality in concrete construction projects by applying their demonstrated knowledge and skills,” states John Nehasil, Managing Director, American Concrete Institute Certification. “With the support of ACI, ACTS brought the Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification program to Rwanda, and ACI is proud to be certifying individuals in this region.” A Concrete Field Testing Technician is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of seven basic field tests on freshly mixed concrete. The program requires a passing grade on a written examination and successful completion of a performance examination.
