The American Concrete Institute has recognized 98 universities with the 2019 ACI Award for University Student Activities. The award uses a points system based on participation in concrete related activities and programs to reward academic institutions. Universities that have earned 12 or more points are recognized as Excellent and those with six to eleven points achieve Outstanding status. Points can be earned for the number of students with ACI membership, participation in regional and national concrete competitions, ACI Conventions and Committee meetings, community service, student chapter formation, and hosting campus meetings, seminars or field trips. Forty universities were designated as Excellent and 58 received recognition as Outstanding. Awardees will be recognized during the ACI Concrete Convention in Rosemont/Chicago, IL, USA, March 29-April 2, 2020, and receive a printed banner to display during meetings and campus events. Applications for the 2020 program will be due January 31, 2021. ACI currently has 17,000+ student members and 240 student chapters worldwide.
