The Women in ACI Committee has selected four young professionals to received free registration to the upcoming ACI Virtual Concrete Convention, March 28 – April 1, 2021. The committee is dedicated to sharing the experience of professional and technical collaboration with emerging faces in the concrete industry by offering free registration twice a year to men and women with less than eight years of industry experience. Mishi Joshi is a Civil/Structural Engineer with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Inc. in San Diego, CA, USA. She is an Associate Member of ACI Committee 349 Concrete Nuclear Structures and has helped with peer and ballot reviews. Ronald Koran is a Staff Engineer with Braun Intertec in St. Paul, MN, USA. Ron is interested in becoming more involved in ACI committees as well as the local ACI Chapter in Minnesota. Heidi Klein is a Property Claims Manger for SBSA, LLC in Golden, CO, USA. Heidi is hoping to learn more about concrete design for forensic repairs as they are part of her day job. Gil Cruz Jr. is a Civil Engineering Program Head at Bataan Peninsula State University in the Philippines. He is looking forward to exchanging knowledge during the convention that will help him to champion concrete in academia. All registered convention attendees are invited to attend the Women in ACI Reception during the ACI Virtual Concrete Convention on March 29 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. This long-standing ACI tradition is a great opportunity to get to know women in the concrete industry. In addition to networking, convention attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual silent auction that features concrete artwork beautifully crafted by students and others. Proceeds from the auction go toward sponsoring the free registration program for young professionals to attend the spring or fall convention. Applications for the next Young Professional Free Convention Registration Program will be available in the fall for ACI Concrete Convention in Atlanta, GA USA, October 17-21, 2021.
