ACI Committee 123, Research and Current Developments announced the winners of the Spring 2021 Concrete Research Poster Contest. A total of 16 graduate students entered the two-part virtual session on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 during the ACI Virtual Concrete Convention. Pivot Engineers sponsored the cash prizes for three award categories: 1st Place ($300 USD): Investigation of autogenous shrinkage and hydration process of cementitious systems with 0.42 water-cement ration internally cured with superabsorbent polymers. Presented By: Baishakhi Bose Affiliation: Purdue University 2nd Place ($200 USD): Effects of total water and (high range) water reducing admixture dosage on flow and strength of mortar internally cured with superabsorbent polymers. Presented By: Caitlin Adams Affiliation: Purdue University 3rd Place ($100 USD): Effect of longitudinal and spiral reinforcement on the capacity and behavior of concrete under fatigue loading. Presented By: Somashekar Viswanath Affiliation: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign The ACI 123 Concrete Research Poster Session complements the existing Research in Progress and Open Topic sessions, and provides further opportunity for the presentation of original, unpublished results from ongoing research projects and leading-edge concrete technology throughout the world.
