The American Concrete Institute recently participated in the New England Building Officials Education Association (NEBOEA) conference on October 4-6 in Amherst, MA. NEBOEA is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide training and continuing education courses for building officials throughout New England.
On Tuesday October 5, ACI Engineer Khaled Nahlawi provided a presentation at the seminar titled, Code-Based Approach to Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures. This presentation provided details on the content of ACI CODE-562-19 and its benefit to the design professional, owner, contractor, and code official.
ACI Code Advocacy Engineer, Steve Szoke spent his time at the conference talking with attendees about the importance of ACI CODE-562-19 along with ACI’s many resources and membership benefits.
States that have already adopted ACI CODE-562 include Hawaii, Ohio, and Florida; with several other states at various stages in the adoption process. For more information on ACI advocacy and involvement, visit concrete.org/advocacy.
