Abstract:
Although lightning strikes on concrete structures are rare, there are recorded cases where they have caused considerable damage. Using four case studies, the author discusses the types of damage, typical locations, visible evidence, and petrographic evidence that lightning produces when it strikes a concrete or masonry structure or concrete pavement.
