Abstract:
The first in the sequence of two articles discusses the current state of Φ-factors and features of their present arrangement that appear unsatisfactory, mainly the difficulties of using them in practice and their present format. The second article will present a brief survey of notable failures and identify some of the underlying causes of common failures as well as possible approaches to changing the structure of the Φ-factors. The authors hope to open a broader discussion on the topic.
