Abstract:
Second study from ACI Committee 302 (Construction of Concrete Floors) Finishing Task Force on air entrainment in slabs and subsequent delamination. Field study conducted in Phoenix, Arizona, provided data for this study. Author proposes reasons why air content is difficult to control under field conditions and why excessive air content is detrimental to slab finish and durability, especially when a smooth, hard troweled finish is specified for the slab on grade.
