Abstract:
The durability of bridge concrete is a function of its permeability and its exposure to water, freezing, and deicing salts. Porous concrete will fail when subjected to sufficiently severe exposure conditions. One solution for protecting existing concrete is to use sealing to reduce concrete permeability and to increase durability and service life.
