Abstract:
The article describes a potential technology for introducing steel fibers (up to 200 mm long) into concrete mixture. The Flying Clipper concept allows for a control of the quantity and length of the fibers being introduced. When paired with computerized placement, the technology provides a solution capable of casting required concentrations of steel fiber reinforcement in specific locations. In some applications, this can lead to replacement of conventional steel reinforcement with steel fibers.
