Abstract:
About 7 years ago, ACI Committee 347, Formwork for Concrete, set out to create a new guide that would thoroughly define formed concrete surfaces based upon a set of uniformly comparable characteristics. The resulting guide, ACI 347.3R-13, defines appearance requirements and provides detailed guidelines for production of various concrete surfaces and objective methods for their evaluation. The document is expected to help all parties involved in the planning and construction of as-cast formed concrete elements.
