Abstract:
The Qatar National Library in Doha, Qatar, was designed by Rem Koolhaas of the Office of Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Opened to the public in 2018, the building’s terraced floors, large cantilevers, and wide-open interior were executed in concrete, structural steel, and corrugated glass. The library won first place in the Decorative Concrete category of the American Concrete Institute’s 2019 Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards competition.
