Abstract:
In August 1995, the International Conference on Concrete under Severe Conditions--Environment and Loading (CONSEC '95) was held in Sapporo, Japan, in which more than 300 people from 28 countries participated and 151 papers were presented. CONSEC '95 aimed to provide specialists in the field with the opportunity of discussing issues transcending their own fields and identifying the interface between their specialties. The purpose of this paper is to present highlights of the conference proceedings, with special emphasis on durability problems as discussed at the previous CANMET/ACI conferences on the performance of concrete in a marine environment.
