Abstract:
Admixtures that fulidify concrete have been used in Germany for many years to improve the workability of concrete and to reduce its water content. However, in the 1960's more effective fluidifiers were introduced in Germany and are known as superplasticizers. The real breakthrough in the application of these new types of admixtures came during the early 1970s.
