Abstract:
In this paper, the author reports on the 14 year's experiences in Japan wihth formaldehyde high condensate of beta-napthalene sulfonate (beta-NSFHC) which later became known as Mighty, since its commerical advent in 1964. The subjects described in this paper are as follows: 1) Brief history of the invention and the development. 2) Mechanism of dispersing cement particles by beta-NSFHC. 3)Production of high strength concrete by the use of beta-NSFHC. 4) Physical properties of high strength concrete thus produced. 5) Durability of concrete containing beta-NSFHC. 6) Biological safety. 7) Examples of the field practice of high strength and flowing concrete.
