Abstract:
ACI 318-14 will be released this year after a multi-year process that included extensive and painstaking input and review through surveys, workshops, and committee meetings. This article provides a brief history of the Code, summarizes the work of ACI Committee 318 as it progressed toward reorganization of the document, lists some of the guiding principles that went into the reorganization, and cites the benefits that the new document will offer.
