Abstract:
Conventional concrete continues to comprise a large percentage of the concrete placed in vertical forms. Placement and consolidation methods thus remain the major determinants for the lateral pressures that will be experienced by the formwork. The author reviews current design equations and proposes an updated equation for calculating the pressures for concrete consolidated by internal vibration.
