Abstract:
This paper is the second chapter of a series of reports on the Long-Time Study of Cement Performance in Concrete. It contains a brief description of the manufacturing process of the 27 cements selected for this study of concrete durability. The cements are listed by type and geographical location of the plants; chemical analyses of the raw materials are given and tabulations presented showing the following operations: preparation of the kiln feed; burning, cooling tand storing of clinkers; grinding and storing of the cements. Data are given on kiln temperatures, uniformity of the clinker unit weights, and cement temperatures.
