Abstract:
Discusses a new nonchloride admixture that efficiently accelerates the time of set and early strength development of concrete containing fly ash tentatively classified as Class CF. Class CF fly ash is obtained from burning bituminous coal from the western United States, contains 15 to 35 percent CaO, and has both pozzolanic and hydraulic properties. The effects of this admixture on the properties of concrete containing Class CF fly ash are presented.
