Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to document the use of controlled low-strength material (CLSM) as a culvert backfill to convert substandard bridge structures to an on-grade roadway over newly placed culverts. Subjects covered include the history of CLSM in Colorado, design considerations, cost and schedule considerations, mix designs, construction considerations, quality control.
