Abstract:
It is proposed an approximate solution procedure for distribution of horizontal loads in structural systems made up of shear walls and frames, using a simplified stiffness matrix, which can be easily implemented in a spreadsheet of a personal computer. The accuracy of the proposal is verified by comparing its results with those obtained from other methods. Some examples of application are also presented.
