Abstract:
Discusses the design and construction of a prestressed concrete bridge built in Mexico using unusual techniques. The 130 ft central span was made with small precast pieces. The bridge was designed in such a way that the erec-tion could be performed without the use of falsework or cranes. Some considerations for using the same design technique for larger spans and wider decks are presented. Total and unit costs for the project are presented.
